HISTORY AND BRAND INFLUENCES

I made my first board in 2009. It was a d fin pig, it was very crude but I liked it. The next few were pretty bad but I was determined to keep at it. I shaped sporadically for the next few years but in 2012 I decided to go for it and shape full time. I quit my job substitute teaching and shaped as many boards as I could. I would make one, ride it, sell it on craigslist for cost and make another. I did this until I started to get some orders.

Deepest Reaches Aesthetic

I just make boards that I would want to ride. Im at old mans mostly so that wave has influenced how the boards come out. You need a board with lots of glide there because its slow but there’s a lot of room to do drawn out turns. I also love to surf the points, so the boards have to work in fast down the line waves too.

CURRENTLY RIDING

The MegaFish for sure. It's what I ride and shape 90% of the time. It works in a variety of waves and it's still interesting to me. I have been and will continue to try and perfect it but it hasn’t changed too much since I shaped my first one.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO SURF?

I love old mans. It's a weird and interesting wave and it's got a great vibe. Great place to hang on the beach and I love hanging on the beach.
