HISTORY AND BRAND INFLUENCES

I live in San Clemente, but I’m originally from Sarasota, FL. I draw a lot of inspiration from the six-inch high waves I come from. I shaped my first surfboard aided by a VHS tape of John Carper, my love for building surfboards grew exponentially when I was introduced to twin fins from Rick Hammond and asymmetry from Donald Brink. After Donnie built me a board, I realized that there are no limits to what you're able to express in shaping and surfboards as an individual.

The past 5 years, my motivation for shaping has grown into building twin fins for any wave imaginable whether that’s Waimea, Lowers, Pipe/Backdoor, Cloudbreak, the Gulf Coast of Florida, Ocean Beach, etc. I believe it is possible to make a twin fin that adds greatly to your surfing in terms of speed, fluidity, hold, and versatility while not taking any performance aspects away by only surfing with two fins.

A&H Vessels Aesthetic

I draw a lot inspiration of style from Tolkien. He is a wizard of words and I do my best to embody that same expertise and finesse in my surfboards. Weird fact, all of my surfboard model names come from the Tolkien universe of Lord of the Rings. I get inspired by anyone living their life authentically and incorporating that into their work regardless of what it is. Skateboarding has always been a prominent influence as well.

CURRENTLY RIDING

I build myself something new every 2 weeks to stay excited, refine, and remember why I started shaping in the first place. Personally, I’m most excited about the Gaffer in asymmetrical and symmetrical form. If you’re trying to guess, it does have two fins.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO SURF?
